| Bio: | ![]() Blessed Be When there is no place you've decided to call your own, no matter where you go, you are always heading home. ~Muso Soseki Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there. ~Rumi As I grow older, I discover more and more that the greatest gift I have to offer is my own joy of living, my own inner peace, my own silence and solitude, my own sense of well-being. When I ask myself, 'Who helps me most?' I must answer, 'The one who is willing to share his or her life with me.' ~Henri J.M. Nouwen When wisdom awakens you, you will see truth wherever you look. Truth is all you'll see. ~Ajahn Chah Your True Lord and Master abides in all. Do not break anyone's heart. ~Sikh Scripture Be the friend of all, but in your spirit remain alone. ~St. Isaac of Syria Heartfelt greetings to you. I am a little 42 year old woman and reside in the Great White North with my beloved husband and my cat Potion. I am solitary by nature but also quite friendly. I enjoy sitting in my garden and quietly gazing at trees and the sky. I am a renegade monastic and peacemaker, and spend most of my time writing spiritual books in my strange and snug curiosity shop of an office. Professor Severus Snape is one of my favorite topics; I am currently at work upon a number of books about him (a series of metaphysical/mystical essays). My days are devoted to pondering life, the universe, and everything... I am also known as the quiet professor. ![]() Artwork by my amazing friend My eclectic -yet harmonious- spiritual outlook has been influenced by people such as Meister Eckhart, Lytta Basset, Wayne Teasdale, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jack Kornfield, Marcus J. Borg, Richard Rohr, C.G. Jung, Elaine Pagels, the Dalai Lama and Rachel Pollack, to name but a few. I am a religious pluralist (I view all the great and lesser known spiritual traditions as independently valid agents of human transformation), an interspiritual mystic, a Universalist (in the sense that I believe all human beings are positively nurtured by the Ultimate, however the Transcendent is perceived and understood, whether in personal or transpersonal terms), an ardent ecumenist. My strongest spiritual influences are Buddhism, Taoism, Neo-Paganism, and certain forms of Gnostic Christianity. I attend quiet services at a small Anglican church. ![]() Khamemi savve jive Savve jiva khamantu me Mitti me savve bhuesu Veram majaham na kenai I ask for forgiveness from all living beings; May all living beings grant me forgiveness. My friendship is with all living beings; I have hostility towards none. ~Jain prayer ![]() My black robes are a sign of affirmative acceptance and a symbolic cloak of love that covers all wrongs. I love expressing my ideas and convictions through clothing. I sometimes disable comments at my discretion, especially when I write about spiritual matters. Supreme Love blesses you for your kindness towards your somewhat snail-like professor :-) Peace to you always. I must tell you that I am, for the most part, a silent presence on my flist. It also usually takes me Loved ones on my flist are invited to join my community, It is important to me that my writings be like a prayer, an offering. Thus, some time ago I began to write without using contractions and rejected modern terms, favoring antiquated language instead. It was my reaction to the manner in which words and sentences have been progressively compressed by recent technological devices. I wanted to step out of time... To write lovingly, slowly, reverently. I wanted to voice something sacred, something that cannot be rushed. I wanted to say, "Most beloved, you can rest here. We have all the time necessary." ![]() ![]() Eternal Peace ![]() | ||||||||||
